I am going to write the letter the main character sends to his parents in chapter 8
dear mother and father i have gotten a job from a member of the trustee and have moved to new York. don’t worry I will only be here for a year or so until i can make enough money to return to collage. The city has been nice so far, it is amazing there are so many blacks mixed in with the whites. I saw a black traffic directer and everyone obeyed him. I will miss the south though I cant wait to return with all the money I have earned love you,
